For the purpose of Organization, it is the policy of Anchor Maric that its operations should be carried out at all times in such a way as to ensure that health, safety, environment and security of its employees, Assets of third parties/public utilities and all persons likely to be affected by its operations, including sub-contractors, customers and general public are safe guarded, and that the same dedication will be shown to the protection and conservation of the environment.
A good and cordial relationship will be maintained with host communities to avoid communal clashes, skilled and unskilled labor of host communities will be given consideration during employment.
In consultation with all interest parties, feasible and realistic community development projects will be undertaken.
In planning for work execution within the vicinity of the host communities, the welfare of the local communities will be taken into consideration.
This policy is the direct responsibility of your senior management who are the Board of Directors for the overall implementation of this policy. Within Anchor Maric Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HESE) is a line management responsibility for which individuals will be held accountable and it is recognized that implementation by line management of the policy will lead to greater efficiency and higher standards throughout all departments within the company.
It is the duty of all employees to take reasonable care of their own safety, and that of other who may be affected by their act of omissions.
Anchor Maric is committed to work within the regulations and codes of practices laid down by decrees and governmental orders and liaise with all governmental departments and customers as well as professional and academic bodies to ensure improvement of all HSSES regulation.
It is the company’s policy to sustain the appropriate training for all personnel to ensure that Anchor Maric Procedures and governmental regulations are known and observed.
Subcontractors working for or on behalf of Anchor Maric will be required to work to the policies and standards.
CASHES POLICY STATEMENT
The Management of regards the promotion of occupational CASHES measures of paramount importance and as a mutual objective for Management, staff and communities at all level.
It is the company’s policy to do, that which is right to prevent injury, personal damage and property, pollution to the environment and protect everyone from foreseeable work hazard.
The Management has the following responsibilities:
- To ensure that competent persons are made to supervise all facets of operations.
- To make available all necessary devices and protective equipment and ensure their use.
- To adequately inform employees, and communities, when necessary, of any potential hazards arising from its operations.
- To provide training and instruction to enable employees perform their duty or work safely and efficiently.
- To provide and maintain safe and healthy working environment, machinery and equipment, taking cognizance of all statutory requirements.
- Provision of First Aid, equipment and materials for use at all sites of operations and Offices.
- The staff have a duty to co-operate and carry out this policy by: Reporting any faulty equipment and machinery to the General Manager and for making sure that they are put in good working conditions before their use.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS POLICY
To enhance and sustain harmonious relationship between the company and host communities with the aim to ultimately reduce operating costs, and shutdown culminating from unhealthy company-community relationship. Anchor Maric shall engage qualified work force from the Local/ host Community.
Anchor Maric shall engage a community liaison officer who shall liaise between the community and the company on matters such as employment of indigenes and implementation of community development projects. The implementation of the community Relations Plan shall be the responsibility of the Managing Director.
Anchor Maric has it as a policy and function to manage community affairs as an integral part of the company’s business with a view to maintaining good relationship between the company and her host community.
Anchor Maric shall therefore co-operate and develop interface with the client and third parties to avoid unnecessary delays, shut down and of course unwarranted loss of man-hours. Prior to mobilization / movement to any locality, Anchor Maric shall pay a visit to the community Chiefs and Leaders. Any community disturbance or threat shall be reported to client without delay.
